• Is the hostel easy to reach from Schiphol Airport?

  Yes — getting here is simple. From Schiphol Airport, take the train to Amsterdam Centraal Station, then hop on Tram 14 towards Flevopark and get off at Alexanderplein. From there, it’s just a 5-minute walk to Generator Amsterdam.

• Can we park our coach at the hostel?
  Yes - the coach drop off and pick up point is in front of the entrance of the building on 9-11 Place du Colonel Fabien.
• Do we have to arrive together?
  No - as long as we have the names of everyone in the group - you can check in separately. 
• Are there private bathrooms available for groups?

  Yes, many of our private rooms and some shared options come with en-suite bathrooms. If your group requires private facilities, just let us know when you enquire and we’ll find the best setup for you.

• Do you offer discounts for large group bookings?

  We do offer competitive rates for groups. The exact discount depends on group size, dates, and availability. Submit your enquiry and our group bookings team will give you the best possible rate.

• What support and access do groups have during their stay?
  Our Duty Manager and Reception team are available 24/7 to help with anything you need during your stay. For your safety, all rooms use a secure key card system — each guest receives a card that must be shown to our Door Security staff when re-entering the building. This ensures smooth access and peace of mind for all group members.
• Do you serve food & drink on site?

  Yes, we serve food and drinks on site.

  Breakfast: served daily between 7:00–10:00, with group time slots arranged during busy periods.

  Lunch: freshly prepared options are available from 12:00–14:00 in our café — ideal for a quick bite between activities.

  Dinner: served from 19:00–22:00 with daily menus perfect for groups who prefer to dine together on site. Packed lunches can also be arranged for days out.

• Can you cater for dietary requirements or allergies?

  Absolutely. Our kitchen team regularly prepares meals for groups with dietary needs. Just let us know in advance when booking so we can make the right arrangements.

• Do you provide packed lunches for day trips?
  Yes, packed lunches can be arranged for groups heading out on excursions or day trips. These need to be pre-booked, and you can see examples in our Group Menu.
• Do you have a bar for over 18's?
  Ideal for groups who are 18+ who want to party together, every night is different. The bar is open from 8pm – 2am. We host fun nightly games and prize giveaways, monthly theme parties and exciting hen & stag parties.
  Over 18’s only in the bar – I.D will be requested.
  
   
• Are there social events we can join during our stay?

  Yes — Generator is known for its lively social spaces and events. Depending on your dates, your group may be able to join DJ nights, bar events, or other activities happening on site. Check out our Amsterdam events to see what’s on during your stay.

• Do you host stag and hen groups?

  Yes — Generator Amsterdam is a popular choice for stag and hen weekends as well as smaller leisure groups. With private and shared rooms, a lively bar, and easy access to the city centre, we’re set up to make your celebration fun and stress-free. • Can we book out any of the event spaces?

  Yes, our event spaces can be booked for private hire. From the Auditorium to the Library and Oosterbar, we’ve got flexible options for groups of all sizes. You can find full details in our Private Hire brochure.

• We're travelling - can we book multiple Generator Hostels with you?

  Yes! Once you submit your enquiry, one of our friendly group experts will be in touch to help you arrange bookings across multiple Generator hostels. You can also include extra details in the comments section of the enquiry form to make the process even smoother.
