What’s the job?

  • Report to the Facilities Manager/Assistant General Manager
  • Take ownership of the maintenance related responsibilities for the building to ensure that we create a truly unique Generator experience
  • Ensure that our social spaces embody the Generator brand and culture
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with all statutory local legislation and regulation, in particular, H&S, building regulations and Fire Safety
  • Be responsible for the day to day Health and Safety issues within the property
  • Satisfy the relevant educational requirements needed in order to effectively carry out your health and safety duties
  • With the Facilities Manager implement all health and safety measures
  • Take responsibility for all equipment onsite ensuring that it is maintained and ready for use at all times
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them
  • Maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building
  • Ensure and identify where possible problems that may affect the guest experience and rectify in good time
  • With the Facilities Manager supervise the day to day operation in Maintenance (daily maintenance tasks and work orders)
  • Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the work order monthly system.
  • Ensure ETIS jobs are reviewed daily and actioned without delays
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with contractors on work to be carried out under contract agreements, as directed by the facilities manager
  • Ensure that contractors are aware of their responsibilities while on the premises and are informed of health and safety requirements, e.g. fire regulations, fire exits, hazardous substances
  • Ensure that the works carried out are to the standards required.  Take Report if any contractor recommended follow up work and resolve immediately
  • Keep managers informed of any major defects in the building, plan or equipment which could affect the successful running of the hostel
  • Be prepared to work out-of-hours in order to maintain the generator assets in full working order
  • Perform Duty Manager shift when required
  • Have Technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and decoration
  • Hands-on attitude, with attention to detail
  • You must be eligible to work in the EU to be considered for this role 
  • Have at least 2 years’ experience, ideally within hospitality background, in a similar role
