Like dancing? Like films? Like the thought of those two things combined? Cinedans Dance On Screen Festival could be the festival of your dreams. The Cinedans Festival was founded in 2007, and it’s dedicated to celebrating dance films and the art of movement captured on screen. It serves as a platform for filmmakers, choreographers, and dancers to come together, share their work, and inspire one another. 

This three-day international film festival, set in the heart of Amsterdam, features short- and full-length dance films, documentaries, retrospectives and all manner of interactive installations. This year’s festival will feature roughly 60 films from all over the world.  

There’ll be readings, debates, and workshops for both professionals and amateurs, so who knows — you might end up brushing shoulders with the next Martin Scorsese. The festival sees the ideal dance film as “a true synthesis between the two media of dance and cinematography”. It sounds original. It sounds fun. You won’t see films like this anywhere else, that’s for sure.
