Little Simz, London’s finest female rapper, is performing at La Défense as part of Paris’s Festival Chorus.

La Défense is not typically associated with partying or culture or British grime, but for ten days the economic and commercial district will be putting on a music festival that includes performances by Robert Glasper Experiment, The Pharcyde, Nekfeu and Stormzy.

Little Simz is only 21 but her rapping betrays a talent well beyond her years with her debut album released last year to wide-ranging acclaim. Like a vocal chameleon she switches from rap to honeyed vocals with an ease we haven’t seen since Lauryn Hill. Fans include Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar and Mos Def. She’s a breath of fresh air, a true London talent and is best seen live. The Festival Chorus’s lunchtime concerts are free while the evening performances are ticketed so be sure to get a ticket in advance for Little Simz’s show tomorrow night.

Head here to buy €25 tickets to see Little Simz and others this Friday (there's a discount if you're under 25 or a student!). If you're travelling there from Generator Paris, take the Metro from Colonel Fabien to Charles de Gaulle Étoille then the train (which goes to the airport) all the way to La Défense – it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.
