Treat Yourself With An Indulgent Food Tour in Barcelona

Barca-journal-6

Since it’s such a beautiful city and the weather’s always good, it’s not surprising that Barcelona is full of walking tours.

We’ve covered a very important one before, and there are also art, architecture, photography and historical ones on offer. It’s one of the best ways to experience the city and, today, we’re concentrating on perhaps the most indulgent variety: the food tour.

There are a few companies that offer food walking tours – taking you on a journey through locally produced cuisine in markets, restaurants and getting you tipsy in the process on fresh Catalonian wine.

Barcelona Eat Local is one of the most well-known, offering an “Food Tour of Authentic Barcelona” and emphasising the local provenance of the food. It leaves every Friday and Saturday at 11.30 and lasts for three-and-a-half hours. It’s a somewhat expensive treat –  from €69 for adults – but you’ll get over 9 tastings and some homemade vermouth, wine and or cava.

Meanwhile Barcelona Taste claims to be the city’s first “gastronomical tapas tour”. from €99 for adults but offers a more intimate and glutinous experience since you stop at only 2 or 3 places and get a bit more food. There are three different tours on offer, but we recommend trying our the Craft beer and Tapas tour.
