Cines Verdi

There are fewer places where you can get away from Hollywood’s grasp. And Verdi cinemas ­on Verdi street ­– is one of them. It was founded originally in 1926 under the name of Salón Ateneo Cine and, decades later, added three more screening rooms. It started as a disruptive movie theatre, showing films no one else would dare to at that time, but eventually opened up to a wider range of movies, always within the alternative circuit and in original version with subtitles.
