La Plaça del Diamant (“Diamond Square”)

A must. Named after a prosperous jeweller who bought the land in 1860, this square is famous for various reasons. Primarily because one of the most iconic Catalan books was named after it, and has a statue of its lovely main character “Colometa” right there. “La Plaça del Diamant” is mandatory reading to understand Catalan society after the Spanish Civil War. Goosebumps guaranteed.
