Frankfurter Allee DISCOVER MORE: monuments berlin Frankfurter Allee is one of Berlin's longest roads. Italian architect Aldo Rossi called it Europe's last great street. Originally named Stalinallee, the boulevard is a two-kilometre monument to the splendour and scale of socialist architecture. These wedding cake style buildings might be an eyesore to some, and the street has seen better days, but nowhere says the grand scale ambitions of the Soviet Union's influence over Berlin like this.
