THE 9TH BERLIN BIENNALE OF CONTEMPORARY ART LOOKS LIKE FUN

This year, the organisers handed the curatorial reins over to DIS Magazine– the hyper-trendy Miami-based post-internet art collective – and they’ve steered the Biennale somewhere suitably weird. Their announcement regarding their curation is fun, no doubt about it:

The 9th Berlin Biennale for contemporary art may or may not include Contemporary Art. The Prancing Elites may or may not be the official brand ambassadors of the 9th Berlin Biennale. A pop album by artists may or may not replace the press release. Performance art may or may not be the future of advanced interior design and performers may or may not be paid sick-days. The KW Institute for Contemporary Art may or may not trade square meters with the Mall of Berlin. The 9th Berlin Biennale may or may not render the present in drag.

...there's clearly a lot to look forward to.

Artists featured include Korpys/Löffler, Christopher Kulendran Thomas, Shawn Maximo, Alexandra Pirici, Babak Radboy, Jon Rafman, Lucie Stahl, Hito Steyerl, TELFAR, Amalia Ulman, Antoni Abad, Halil Altındere, Korakrit Arunanondchai/Alex Gvojic, Armen Avanessian/Alexander Martos, åyr, Will Benedict, CUSS Group, Cécile B. Evans, Ryan Trecartin, Camille Henrot, Josh Kline and our favourite guy on the list, video artist Ryan Trecartin, who is showing new films there (a still of one you can see above). If you're not familiar with his work, you're in for weird ol' treat:
