If you’re curious about traditional Dutch food, Amsterdam is the perfect place to sample local delicacies like Bitterballen (fried meatballs), caramel Stroopwafels, buttery pancakes and cheese galore (there’s even a cheese museum for fanatics of the yellow stuff).

But don’t be fooled. Amsterdam has also a plethora of tempting international restaurants thanks to its diverse population. From Asian delights like dim sum, noodles and curry, to Middle Eastern feasts and Latin flavours, there are restaurants to delight even the pickiest eaters.

And yes, you can get a burger from a vending machine, though we don’t necessarily recommend it. There are far better ways to cure your munchies.
