Los Veranos de la Villa is the all-summer-long Madrid arts festival which includes theatre shows, live music, dance, cinema, circus acts and all kinds of madcap performances around the city.

Music fans should get their tickets for Madrid’s top festivals, DCODE and Mad Cool, which bring you the hottest names in indie, rock, pop and dance.

Oh, and if you’re in Madrid for New Year, we hope you like grapes - (no, we don’t mean the fermented kind, though there’s always plenty of wine to go around!). As well as the fireworks and non-stop, dusk-till-dawn partying you’d expect at New Year’s Eve celebration, Madrilenos eat a grape each time the bell tolls at midnight to bring good luck for the year ahead -  so buen provecho!
