Noma - The world's best restaurant

noma-main-image

Although Copenhagen is not world renowned for its food, its finest restaurant Noma is famous the world over, and for good reason.

The two Michelin-starred eatery and regular winner of “World’s Best Restaurant” with Restaurant Magazine (it came first in 2021 and 2nd in 2019), has a huge reputation and an equally sizeable cost to go with it.

Head chef Rene Redzepi is constantly mixing traditional Scandinavian food with flavours and styles from all around the world (he just recently had a five week pop-up restaurant in Japan), and is one of the most respected chefs in the world. As I say it is not cheap, though.

Diners are usually served around 20 small dishes, costing roughly £300 per person, with a wine pairing costing an extra £200 on top. But then at least you can say to yourself, “I’ve eaten in one of the world’s best restaurants” as you eat beans on toast for the rest of the month. (Also, remember, there are other places to eat in Copenhagen that won't break the bank.)

You can find Noma at Strangade 93, about 20 minutes walk from Generator Copenhagen.
