Kilmainham Gaol

A former prison that now functions as a museum, several prominent Irish revolutionaries were executed in Kilmainham Gaol by the British. It is a place that is inextricably tied to the Irish nationalist cause and scenes from many famous films, including the Italian Job and In the Name of the Father, have been recorded there. Visually spectacular with queues to match, it pays to arrive early.
