Events in Amsterdam

Electronic music is huge in the Netherlands, so get your earplugs at the ready and your raving shoes on for massive dance festivals like ADE, DGTL and Awakenings. There are plenty of other music festivals, from jazz to classical, world music and more.

It’s not just Amsterdam’s Red Light District that glows after dark. During the Light Festival, the whole city lights up with trippy visual art installations (best viewed after a visit to a coffee shop!).

All through the summer, there are open air theatre shows in Vondelpark, and in the colder months you can warm up at the cosy Christmas markets, and appreciate the colourful, totally Dutch vibes of Tulip Day in January.
