O-Ren Ishii

Sharing its name with the assassin played by Lucy Liu in Tarantino’s Kill Bill, O-Ren Ishii is a Korean eatery beloved of locals. Achieving that magic combo of being visually inconspicuous but also constantly crowded, the restaurant is just a 15-minute walk from Generator’s Hamburg hostel and in the summer it’s advisable to enjoy their glass-noodle salad in the park nearby. Which isn’t to say their serving staff aren’t friendly; you needn’t worry about having your head lopped off with a katana sword.
