Photo: Matthias Winkel's Hamburg DISCOVER MORE: local artists interviews hamburg The photographer walks us through a warm Saturday photo of a dip in Hamburg's Elbe river. “Hangovers killed our motivation to have a skate session on that warm Saturday, so Daniel and I decided to take a swim instead. This time of the year is lovely, all the little restaurants are open and you can sit on the beach. The ships are the main reason why the Elbe is heavily polluted, but they give an amazing atmosphere. The little beach at Teufelsbrück is only used by a few locals, so it wasn't very crowded. We had a swim, a beer and I took the picture of Daniel, which sums up the scene perfectly. I didn't even get a nasty skin disease from the water! You couldn't ask for more.” Check availability of our hostel in Hamburg
