The Cartoon Museum

Obviously Bloomsbury is home to the British Museum, which has the largest and most comprehensive permanent collection in existence and tells the entire history of everything ever. It’s free – as are all big museums in the UK – and is worth it. But if you can’t be bothered to spend a day glaring at stolen colonial plunder then head to something a bit more manageable, like the tiny Cartoon Museum round the corner. It’ll introduce you to a very British tradition of cartooning, from political satire (Private Eye) through scatological nonsense (Viz) to graphic novels (Alan Moore’s V For Vendetta).
