Parc des Buttes Chaumont

ParcdeChuttes

Quite unlike Paris’s snootier parks littered with the iconic green Fermob chairs, the Parc des Buttes Chaumont welcomes lounging and snogging on its grassy banks. As a result, this huge hilltop park is a longstanding hang-out for picnicking parisians, it is also a budget way of catching the Paris skyline away from the swarms of tourists at the Sacre-Coeur and Eiffel Tower. Climb all the way up to the Temple de la Sibylle for knockout views and on your descent grab a drink at Rosa Bonheur, a laidback bar, café and favourite on the gay scene (especially on Sundays) or at the new Pavillon Puebla a large cocktail bar hidden amongst the trees.
