Casa dei Tre Oci

img_0716hdr

Right in front of Zitelle water bus stop, the gate from Giudecca to nearly every other place in Venice, there’s a peculiar building with three big windows on its facade. It’s Casa dei Tre Oci (House of Three Eyes), a neo-gothic effort whose symbolic implications lie deep in the life of its architect, the late 19th-century painter Mario De Maria.

You’ll find first-class photograph exhibitions there, but you can investigate the mysteries of the Casa through its furniture, objects and historical pictures.
