Harry's Dolci

Nestled on the banks of the Giudecca, Harry’s Dolci stands as Harry’s Bar younger brother. Never heard of Harry’s Bar? Well, don’t tell Hemingway or George Orwell, they literally worshipped it. Here’s where the peach bellini cocktail was invented.

Even though Harry’s Bar deserves its reputation, the most devoted scholar will probably pull back at the sight of the monstrously expensive menu. Harry’s Dolci, on the other hand, inherits all its charms at a convenient price, whilst also being a few metres from our hostel in Giudecca. And they have bellini, too.

Why is Harry’s Dolci famous?

Harry’s Dolci shares its menu with its famous older brother, which means both serve Bellinis and Carpaccio’s (which were originally invented at Harry’s Bar). They’re both also well known for offering extremely dry martinis, 10 parts gin to 1 part vermouth.

It is also famous for its incredible views of the Giudecca Canal, with outdoor seating overlooking passing yachts and barges.

How expensive is Harry’s Dolci?

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the menu for Harry’s Dolci is void of prices. Although it is more affordable than Harry’s Bar, it is still very much on the higher end of the scale. This is, in part, due to the venue only being open from Spring to Autumn.

However, it’s also partially due to its association with its super famous bigger brother, their first class service and the stunning setting. It’s certainly more of a bucket list item than a casual lunch date, but so so worth it.

What can you order at Harry’s Dolci?

The menu is reasonably sized and there are a range of meal choices to pick from. There’s a daily special menu, traditional Venetian dishes, sandwiches, salads, grilled delights and much more.

They also offer a small selection of delectable deserts, such as sorbets, homemade cakes or fruit and cheese platters. But one thing you cannot miss are their incredible drinks, as previously mentioned. You cannot come to Harry’s Dolci without trying at least one Bellini!
