Museo Fortuny

This charming 15th-century palazzo, which belonged to the Spanish fashion designer Mariano Fortuny, is possibly the most eclectic building in Venice. Off the beaten path and not easy to find, it represents a good excuse to leave Giudecca for a short trip in the main island.

You don’t want to miss the exhibitions through the four picturesque floors that once were Fortuny’s own atelier of photography, stage-design, textile-design and painting. His spirit and his passion for research and experimentation still live in the palazzo Pesaro, and you can buy them at a real bargain in the book and souvenir shop on the top floor.
