MAY, 2024
Leading hybrid accommodation brand Generator has announced full conversion of its latest property, Generator Berlin Alexanderplatz, following its official launch party on Thursday, 16 May. The hotel, which marks the brand’s fourth asset in the German market, comes as a result of Generator’s first third-party management deal in Europe signed with Schroders Capital.
Undergoing a full refurbishment, revitalising the aesthetics of the space with a transformation of 132 guestrooms (695 beds) and bathrooms, as well as the enhancement of the bar, restaurant, and common areas. Alongside existing twin rooms and shared rooms, a variety of new room categories have been introduced, including new family rooms – following an increase in demand from families – and private rooms which can accommodate between four and eight people, ideal for groups travelling ahead of an exciting summer of events such as EURO 2024.
Offering a brand-new shuffleboard bar and pool tables, the hotel conversion has ‘gamified’ the living areas, building on Generator’s already successful shuffleboard bars in London, Copenhagen and Dublin. With entertainment at its core, guests can expect live DJ sets and music events, karaoke, live sports and more during their visit.
Alastair Thomann, CEO of Generator and Freehand Hotels, says: “The conversion of Generator Berlin Alexanderplatz comes after a significant year of growth for the brand. The property is an example of our hyper-vigilant business model which is constantly adapting our spaces to welcome new guests and reach new audiences. After a record breaking 2023, we’re excited for our projects in the pipeline”.
Spearheaded by Interior Architect Stefanie Jaensch and CEU Architecture and Design have redesigned the social spaces to use a darker, industrial palette alongside touches of red, and bespoke artwork commissioned by Kollektiv Orange, allowing the property to capture and reflect its local surroundings.
Generator is paving the way in the revolution of hybrid accommodation, a trailblazer in the shared-space sector constantly adapting their offering and product to ensure they are catering to every audience.
A private twin room begins from £61 per night and a bed in a shared room begins from £21 per night.
