Blackout dates are dates when the voucher can’t be used at certain locations. This usually happens during busier periods when availability is limited.

Yes. On some dates and at certain locations, voucher bookings aren’t available.

As Generator is a hostel brand, we have fewer private double rooms, which tend to sell out first during busy periods. Larger private rooms and private dorms often have better availability.

The validity date shows the period during which the voucher can be used. However, voucher availability is limited, and not all dates are open for voucher bookings at every location.
During high-demand periods, smaller room types (like doubles) tend to sell out first, while larger rooms may still be available.

Room availability for vouchers is separate from regular rates. This means a room may still be bookable on the website at the standard price, even if voucher availability for those dates is already full.

At the moment, we don’t have a way to check voucher availability or a calendar of blackout dates in advance. Availability depends on the location and dates selected and can change over time.

If your preferred dates aren’t available, you can try different dates or another Generator location. Your voucher remains valid until 30/12, so you can also use it later.

At some Generator hostels, city tax is included in the €19.95 rate. At others, it’s charged on arrival and paid separately at the property.

No. Each voucher is valid only for the room type it was purchased for.
For example, if you bought a voucher for a room for 2, it can’t be used to book a room for 4.

No. There’s no minimum number of guests per room.
You can book a room for any number of people up to its maximum size — for example, you can stay alone in a 4-bed room, or book an 8-bed room for up to 8 people.

No. Vouchers can’t be combined in a single booking. However, you can purchase multiple vouchers and make separate bookings.

No. The voucher can’t be combined with other offers or discounts.

Yes. Vouchers make a great gift and don’t have to be used by the purchaser.

Bookings are made in the local currency of the Generator location you’re booking, while voucher values are set in EUR.
When your booking is created, the voucher value is converted using the exchange rate on that day.

Because exchange rates can fluctuate, you may see a small remaining balance on your booking. If applicable, this amount is payable on arrival, and you’ll see the exact amount at the time of booking.
