Hostel in Venice on Giudecca Island

It’s not hard to find beauty in a marble city built on a lagoon, but away from the obvious sights and monuments, across bridges, down backstreets and into secret squares, you’ll discover the hidden corners where Venetians hang out. Because if you want to find the real Venice, you have to get lost.

Generator Venice stands on the waterfront of the island of Giudecca, one short stop on the Vapporetto from Piazza San Marco. Our Venice hotel was originally a warehouse, so the building blends history and character with contemporary design features.

Inside the hotel you’ll find luxurious mosaic floors, a glass chandelier and an imposing stone fireplace. Public spaces are subtly split into intimate and open-plan areas – all surrounding the bar and café. Every room has a view of either the gardens, Lido, Grande Canal or the iconic San Marco. Not bad, eh?

Booking perks

Generator Venice is settled on the island of Giudecca’s beautiful waterfront. Within walking distance of the ever-popular San Marco district, it provides easy access to the rest of the city via its famous vaporetto water-taxis. It’s the perfect base from which you can explore the ‘living museum’ of art, cuisine and culture that’s on your doorstep.

Venice is the subject and inspiration for thousands of artists and works, and you'll understand why when you see it suspended in its blue subtropical lagoon. Known traditionally as 'La Serenissima' (or 'Most Serene Republic'), the city promises to leave an unforgettable impression.

Venice is celebrated for its art as well as its architecture, which is beautiful in its grandeur and antiquity. The city’s reputation – and its many luxury establishments – attracts the rich and famous. The Venice Film Festival is the oldest in the world; every year, the city welcomes cinema’s biggest stars as they celebrate the industry’s best achievements.

Alongside landmarks such as St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace or the Grand Canal, there’s plenty more to see and do. Venice is full of charming backstreets, large shopping centres, delectable restaurants and must-visit local venues.

Built within the shell of an old warehouse, our Venice hostel is unlike any other. The hotel’s unique interior design combines contemporary features with local traditions in Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture. Our rooms are comfortable, with a warmth that makes guests feel right at home. We’ve got private and shared rooms in a range of sizes; additional facilities like en-suite bathrooms are available too. We even have female-only dorms. And for the ultimate luxury experience, there’s the Sky Suite, which comes complete with an en-suite and exceptional views. Each of our rooms is equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including free WiFi, lockable storage and fluffy towels.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Venice that offers flexibility, choose Generator. Our boutique hotel offers intimate chill-out spaces and broad open-plan areas with tranquil views – the perfect backdrop for meeting likeminded travellers. You can enjoy buffet breakfasts, delicious food and a host of signature beers and cocktails at our on-site bar and restaurant. We’re always hosting events at our Venice hostel and, if you book as a group today, we’ll even curate a special over-18s event at the bar just for you.
