François Pinault Collection - Punta della Dogana

François Pinault, the self-made French tycoon whose holdings include Gucci, Christie’s and Yves Saint-Laurent, happens to also be one of the most powerful art collectors in the world: he’s gathered something like 2,500 pieces by celebrity artists such as Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman and Cy Twombly, alongside countless rising stars.

As he didn’t know where to put them, he bought the magnificent Palazzo Grassi, right before opening a humbler space at the centre of the Giudecca Canal.
