Eating Out in Venice

Forget about pizza, because Venetian cuisine is all about fresh ingredients and refined, delicate flavours.

There's an endless choice of seafood - think sardines, squid ink pasta, risotto, and salted cod. Another local speciality is cicchetti, kind of like the Italian version of tapas - small, delicious plates of everything from octopus to fried fish, served alongside your drinks in a bacaro.

And, though Venice might not be known for plant-based food, these days more veggie-friendly restaurants are popping up, such as La Tecia Vegana, where you can tuck into all your fave Italian classics - senza carne, naturally.
